Work with electric circuits

The possibility of definition of malfunction or additional installation of electric devices requires existence of electric circuits. The electric chain has to be surely closed. There is not enough, for example, if to the positive plug (+) headlights tension is brought, and other plug(s) is not closed on weight.

Therefore the cable of mass of the rechargeable battery (-) is connected to weight. In some cases such communication with weight appears insufficiently and the corresponding consumer has a direct connection with a weight. Isolation of such communication has, as a rule, brown color. Separate electric chains can have switches, relay, safety locks, measuring devices, electric motors and other electric elements. That it is correct to attach the specified elements, connecting cables have various colors, and contacts have numbering.

For convenience of work with car electric equipment all system is divided into separate chains. The electric elements interacting with each other are shown on the general scheme.

As a rule, at the top of the scheme positive contacts (+), and below contacts of weight(s) are given. Connections of weight are carried out usually through a body or through an additional wire from a point of the weight which is available on a body.

The image of electric elements on the scheme is executed not in scale. For example, cable 1 m long on the scheme has length only several centimeters.

Designations of the major plugs:

Plug 15. Receives a power supply from the ignition lock. Food moves only at the included ignition. Cables have black color or black with color strips.
Plug 30. On this plug tension of the rechargeable battery constantly moves. Cables in the majority a case have red color or red with strips.
Plug 31. Conducts to weight. Wires of weight have, as a rule, brown color.
On electric circuits all consumers and switches are represented in a starting position. Below on the example of the two-level switch the movement of electric current at implementation of switchings in the switch speaks.

If on the switch the first step is pressed, electric current flows from the plug 82 to the plug 83. The switch of the second step holds average position, without carrying out connection. Only when pressing the second step the switch connects the internal conductor 82 to the conductor 84 and transfers electric current further.
At the same time remains closed a chain from the plug 82 to the plug 83 thanks to an internal branch in the switch.

On the following example rules of reading the electric circuit are shown.

1) Designation of plugs, here plug 30.
2) The shaped line between conclusions 8 and 2 to the plug X293 indicates that both conclusions belong to the plug X293.
3) The shaped line from F1 safety lock to a conclusion 2 plugs Ch293 shows a positive wire from the K36 relay.
4) Rated current of a safety lock, here: 30 A.
5) Switches and the relay are shown always in a starting position. The element represented by the continuous line means that it is represented completely, here K36.
6) Designation of an element, here K36.
7) Name of an element, here relay of a cleaner 1.
8) The shaped line from F26 safety lock to a conclusion of the 8th plug X293 shows a positive wire of management from the K36 relay.
9) The element represented by the shaped line means that it is represented not completely, here: Basic A1 module.
10) Designation of a conclusion.
11) The double line from a conclusion 2 plugs X107 to a point of mass of X490 shows a weight wire to the M4 windscreen washer pump electric motor.
12) Point of mass of X490.
13) Color of a cable, here: BR/V1 - brown/violet
14) Designation of the plug, here: X295.

Designations of the major elements following:

A-holder safety lock/device management/module
B-temperature sensor
E-lamps
F-safety lock
H-sound signal/index turn/stoplight
K-relay
M-electric motor
N-radio receiver
R-potentiometer
S-switch
V-valve
X - the plug or a point of weight
Y-external mirror
