Check of fuel system. Winter operation of the Diesel Petrol engine
Diesel engine Operation in winter conditions Usually no additives are added to diesel fuel. But with air fall of temperature the fluidity of diesel fuel decreases, it becomes viscous as honey. For this reason of firm manufacturers of mineral oils apply the special winter additives designed to improve the fluidity and to guarantee start of the engine at temperatures up to -15 °C. However not always these additives are enough for excellent job in the winter therefore in case of filling with summer diesel fuel it is necessary to add kerosene or, as a last resort, low-octane gasoline (not AI-95) to it in the winter. Mixing has to be made whenever possible before start of the engine since differently at first it is necessary to clean the filter and pipelines from paraffin. Since addition of kerosene reduces engine capacity, dilution has to be made in strictly certain proportions. Address Specifications
Because of ease of an inflammability of gasoline mixing has to be made in the fuel tank - at first to fill in gasoline, then diesel fuel. Percentage ratios for various temperatures of air are given in Specifications at the beginning of the Head.
